Hob – General. After steeping, drain off the water and wash the peas in cold water. Then fill the net provided with the peas, tie securely and place the peas in a saucepan of cold water – adding salt to taste – and bring slowly to boil and simmer for about 20 mins. Avoid violent boiling as this will mash the peas.; Other – From Chilled/Ambient. STEEPING. Empty the peas into a bowl together with the steeping tablet. Pour on enough boiling water to well cover them (allowing room for the peas to swell). Leave them to steep for about 12 hours.
